Glass-blown products can range from small paperweights and scientific equipment to lamps, decorative vases, and wall art. Micah Simpson has been creating glass art for 22 years. He earned a BA in accounting from the University Georgia Southwestern in 2004.  During his accounting degree, he was exposed to the art of glassblowing and was instantly hoooked. Upon completing his accounting degree, he entered the BFA program, and his passion for art and glassblowing led to the creation of Glass & Grain in 2017. Micah and his team would love to work with you on your glass project. Contact us for a free quote.

What Is Glassblowing?
Glassblowing is the art and science of shaping molten glass that has been softened by temperatures around 2,200 degrees. The glass is gathering on to “blow pipes” and air is blown by mouth through the pipe.  When air from the mouth hits the extreme heat of the glass, the air molecules react quickly to expand the glass into a bubble. From this bubble, endless forms and glass art can be created. The art form has been used since the first century and is believed to have been used first by the Romans.
